Why do we need vitamin D, or more precisely vitamin D3?
Vitamin D3 - a metabolic hormone
In recent years, numerous studies have been published showing that vitamin D is not so much a vitamin as a central metabolic hormone that influences around 3,000 different metabolic pathways.
Vitamin D deficiency
For this reason, science no longer speaks of a vitamin D deficiency, but of a vitamin D insufficiency, because a deficiency of this centrally important hormone can lead to diseases of all kinds, including cancer (quoted from the book by Dr. Karl J. Probst "The natural way to healing and health"). A lack of vitamin D leads to bone diseases, in children to rickets, in adults to bone softening (osteomalacia). However, taking vitamin D3 is also important for osteoporosis, as vitamin D promotes the absorption of calcium from the intestine.
Prevent and counteract
It is known that vitamin D3 is produced by the body under the influence of sunlight. However, it is also known that many people, especially in our latitudes, are exposed to too little sunlight all year round. In this respect, long-term supplementation of this "sun vitamin" as a dietary supplement is recommended under certain circumstances in order to prevent deficiency. It is scientifically proven and generally recognized that
Vitamin D3 contributes*
- to maintain normal bones
- to maintain normal teeth
- to maintain normal muscle function
- to a normal function of the immune system
- to a normal calcium level
- to a normal absorption/utilization of calcium and phosphor
Vitamin D3 also has a function in cell division.
Why vitamin D3 and vitamin K2?
Based on numerous scientific studies on vitamin D3, it is now recommended that vitamin K2 should also be taken when supplementing with vitamin D3. Taking menaquinone is therefore recommended in order to avoid the side effects of possibly excessive vitamin D3 levels, which can easily be achieved by overdosing. For decades, there have therefore been repeated warnings about excessive vitamin D3 levels in the population because vitamin D has the side effect of increasing calcium levels in the blood.
(Quoted from the book by Dr. Karl J. Probst "The natural way to healing and health") Consequences of overdosing can include kidney problems (kidney stones, renal calcification). The simultaneous administration of vitamin K2, preferably in the MK all-trans form100% as in the telomit® D3K2 plus formula according to Dr. Probst, in which vitamins D3 and K2 are optimally combined, counteracts these adverse effects.
Vitamin K2 also contributes to*
- to maintain normal bones
- to normal blood clotting
This is also scientifically undisputed, which is why our D3K2plus formula was developed on this basis in collaboration with Dr. Probst.
Moringa (Moringa oleifera) - top quality and tested for harmful substances
Even though plant-based food supplements that are enriched with vitamins cannot be certified organic according to the applicable EU regulations, this does not prevent us from using only plant-based ingredients of this contaminant-tested quality for all our products, because we generally avoid unnecessary substances such as worthless fillers.
The moringa tree or shrub, which thrives in southern climes, has always been regarded as a kind of "miracle tree" in its homeland and moringa is considered a "superfood", as its leaves contain all the essential amino and fatty acids as well as many vitamins and minerals. The moringa tree has therefore been widely used for centuries or even millennia.
