Ascophyllum nodosum (Kelp)
The marine brown algae "Ascophyllum nodosum" used here comes from sustainably managed North Atlantic seaweed areas. It is dried and gently crushed into particles. Since brown algae can be contaminated by marine pollution, we only use tested, certified organic brown algae (Ascophyllum nodosum) for the production of our algae capsules. The capsule shell is also of vegan origin and free from PEG and carrageenan.
Natural and Well-Dosed Iodine Supply with telomit® Organic Algae Capsules
Marine brown algae naturally contain iodine. The exact quantity can also be found on the product label. To consistently provide the same iodine content in a can/capsule, we almost always mix two harvests from different harvest areas for our product. What does iodine do in the human body?

More about Ascophyllum nodosum
Kelp, a type of seaweed, is a brown algae that is found mainly in the North Atlantic to Arctic regions, but also in the North Sea, the Baltic Sea, and in subtropical areas. It is used to extract alginic acid (algin), which has a wide range of applications. In the algae themselves, algin is the structural element of the cell walls. In the food industry, algin is produced during the extraction of iodine from seaweed. The salts of alginic acid are called alginates. They are also used in food, for example as thickening and gelling agents. Alginates are also extracted for use in the cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries.
