1. General questions about the products
1.1. How are telomit products developed?
All our products are developed by us in close cooperation with Dr. med. habil. Dr. rer. nat. Karl J. Probst. His extensive practical experience and scientific research from over four decades as a naturopathic doctor, alternative physician, clinic founder and director, and also as a doctor of physics, are incorporated into this process. In the 1980s, Dr. Probst was one of the three key co-founders of the so-called raw food movement in Germany. He is a member of the NEM e.V. scientific advisory board.
You can find out more about the development of a Telomit product below under point 3.7.
1.2. Where are telomit products manufactured?
The telomit products are manufactured, hygienically sealed and labelled exclusively in Germany in accordance with the German pharmaceutical quality management system.
1.3. What is contained in the telomit products apart from the ingredients or raw materials stated on the label?
Apart from the ingredients stated, there is nothing in the capsules. No additives, colourings or fillers are used either.
1.4. Where can I find further information on product quality?
Further general information on the quality and manufacture of telomit products can be found here: telomit
1.5. Are all telomit products vegan or vegetarian?
AAll telomit products are vegetarian, but not all are vegan.
1.6. How can I tell that a telomit product is vegan?
telomit products that are vegan are marked as such on the can or with the respective offer.
1.7. Why are some telomit products not vegan?
Only two telomit products are not labelled as vegan, one is the telomit D3K2plus formula and the other is the organic vital mushrooms.
BIn the D3K2plus formula, the vitamin D3 is extracted from the lanolin of the sheep's wool from the previously shorn sheep. However, the sheep are in no way bred or shorn so that vitamin D3 can be extracted from the sheep's wool.
From a biological point of view, fungi are independent living beings that are neither plants nor animals. In no way are they closer to plants than to animals. Therefore, we have refrained from labelling our organic vital mushrooms as vegan.
1.8. Are telomit products tested on animals?
No, our products are of course not tested on animals by us or on our behalf.
However, some of our customers have given some of our products to their animals and have given us positive feedback. However, we cannot make any recommendations in this regard.
1.9. Why are plastic cans used for telomit products?
We do not consider glass cans to be a real alternative - also from the point of view of sustainability. Glass cans are not only much heavier in terms of weight, but also much more easily breakable, so that more packaging is necessary to protect the glass cans. Glass also has to be recycled under high temperatures and practically does not decompose at all in nature. Glass is also only best protected by additional outer packaging.
For ecological reasons, however, we do not use outer packaging, just as we therefore do not use blister packaging.
1.10. Are telomit's plastic cans safe?
The cans used by telomit are made of hard plastic. These are expressly intended to be filled with food and medical products (such as medicines). They are therefore harmless from a health point of view.
The cans are also hygienic, bisphenol-free and recyclable, so they don't create microplastic waste.
2. SPECIAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAPSULES
2.1. Are the capsules vegan?
Yes, the capsules are vegan, i.e. not of animal origin. They do not contain gelatine.
2.2. The capsules are made of hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. What is this?
Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose (HPMC) is a collective term for derivatives of cellulose (also spelled cellulose). Cellulose is a polysaccharide and is extracted from the cell walls of plants. HPC is approved in Europe as a food additive and as a pharmaceutical excipient.
Within the EU, it is recognised that HPMC even has a health effect. It contributes to the maintenance of normal cholesterol levels. However, these health claims may only be used for products or foodstuffs whose consumption guarantees a daily intake of 5 g of HPMC, because only then does the positive effect occur.
Of course, a single capsule does not reach this value. Nevertheless, it is clear from the above information that taking the capsules cannot be harmful, even if you take several a day.
2.3. Do Telomit vegan capsules contain polyethylene glycols (PEG) or carageen?
The vegan capsules of some manufacturers do indeed contain polyethylene glycols (PEG) or carageen, which is considered problematic or even harmful.
The company Telomit does not use capsules that contain the substances mentioned.
2.4. Why are most of Telomit's products encapsulated?
This has both taste and practical reasons. In particular, this is the only way to achieve an optimal dosage, e.g. of vitamins.
Furthermore, capsules are easier to transport or take with you on trips than liquids, for example.
In addition, the contents of some products smell a little stronger due to the ingredients, such as sulphur gold, which is not pleasant for everyone.
2.5. What is the best way to take the capsules if you cannot swallow them easily?
The best way to take the capsules is with water.
First drink a few sips of water to moisten the mucous membranes so that the capsule "slides" better, and only then swallow the capsule with at least half a glass, preferably more, of water.
2.6. Is it possible to open the capsules and consume only the contents without the capsule ?
Yes, it is possible. However, it is not always recommended for taste reasons. If you want, you can still try this procedure.
2.7. Why do the capsule contents sometimes have different colours in different batches of a product ?
One reason for this is that we use natural products in the capsules, such as plant powder, which can be naturally stronger or weaker in colour or can also appear in different shades of colour. The time of harvest also plays a role.
On the other hand, so-called chemical rearrangement processes can also cause colour differences or discolourations in the contents of the capsules, but these are also harmless.
3. QUESTIONS ABOUT CONSUMPTION AND THE COMBINATION OF PRODUCTS
3.1. Can telomit products be combined with each other?
The various Telomit products are coordinated and complement each other - like a modular system. This means that there is no risk of overdosing, as the vitamins and other active ingredients are coordinated with each other.
3.2. Can Telomit products be combined with products from other manufacturers?
hat depends. However, if these also contain vitamins or minerals that are already contained in the Telomit products, this can lead to undesirable overdoses.
Also, "interactions" can lead to the effect of individual vitamins or minerals being neutralised or cancelled out.
3.3. What interactions can occur with vitamins and other active substances, for example?
For example, taking vitamin B12 and vitamin C at the same time can destroy the vitamin B12 and thus make it ineffective. It is therefore better not to take the B12plus complex with orange juice, for example, but preferably only with water.
Calcium and vitamin D3 are also incompatible. Selenium in particular is also incompatible with many vitamins, such as vitamins K2 (contained in the D3K2plus formula), C or E.
This is also the reason why we generally do not think much of so-called "multi" preparations that (are supposed to) contain "everything". Some ingredients can cancel each other out in their effect and then taking them is of no use.
Therefore, when taking vitamins or minerals that are not compatible with each other, keep a time interval of at least 2-3 hours.
3.4. Why do vitamin products from other manufacturers often contain higher dosages than telomit products?
The telomit products are not lower dosed because we are stingy with vitamins and minerals, but because many vitamin products on the market as food supplements are too high dosed, which can have harmful side effects (hypervitaminosis) - especially when taken over a longer period of time.
For this reason, we expressly do not participate in this competition, which in our view is unhealthy in the truest sense of the word.
3.5. Why are there products from other manufacturers on the market, some with very high dosages?
Very few people know that food supplements - unlike medicinal products - do not require official approval, are not monitored and are not subject to official checks with regard to their composition before being placed on the market.
All that is required - before a food supplement is placed on the market - is its online registration with the BVL, the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety. The BVL does not carry out any checks and therefore does not verify the marketability or safety of the product.
In addition, there are no precise legal requirements for dosages and therefore sometimes limits are exceeded that may even turn a product into a medicinal product, which is illegal but not always noticed.
In this respect, when purchasing food supplements, the consumer must trust in the professional competence of the manufacturers, which is also not checked by the authorities because the checking of professional competence is not prescribed by law.
In this respect, the purchase and consumption of food supplements is purely a matter of "trust".
3.6. What is the professional competence of Telomit?
All Telomit products are developed in close cooperation with Dr. med. habil. nat. Karl J. Probst, a highly experienced medical doctor and well-known in naturopathic circles. Dr. rer. nat. Karl J. Probst, who scientifically leads, advises and accompanies the academic team of the Telomit company.
Dr. Probst and we also always work together on product development with a graduate food chemist who has made a name for himself in specialist circles, particularly in the field of orthomolecular medicine and naturopathy.
3.7. How is a telomite product created, what is the procedure?
According to the objective, it is first checked whether the ingredients that are likely to be combined are compatible with each other.
Then it is checked whether individual ingredients can positively support or strengthen each other in their effect and the formulation is adjusted accordingly.
When compiling the quantity of ingredients and dosages, we are guided not only by any legal requirements, which are checked by our internal lawyers, for example to distinguish them from medicinal products, but also by the recommendations and requirements of the German Federal Risk Assessment Authority and the European Food Safety Authority, EFSA.
In addition, previous research and the current state of knowledge based on the primary scientific literature are also taken into account.
Furthermore, a legal review of the marketability of the product and the sales designation is also carried out by the lawyers at Telomit.
For formal assurance, Telomit also has a marketability certificate drawn up for each product by an external publicly appointed, sworn expert, who - if necessary - can still intervene to correct the recipe before completing his certificate.
Only when the certificate has been issued does production take place and, before the product is placed on the market, does it have to be registered with the BVL.
3.8. Why are overdoses of food supplements problematic, even though they are freely available?
Food supplements are always designed for prolonged and autonomous use, which does not require a medical or therapeutic prescription. Food supplements - as the name suggests - supplement food and can counteract and prevent deficiency symptoms, even though they do not replace a healthy diet.
Food supplements are not medicines. Nevertheless, food supplements can have a medicinal effect if they are taken in too high a dosage, which may even require a prescription.
In individual cases - i.e. in the case of severe deficiency symptoms - this is even desirable for therapeutic reasons, at least for a limited period of time.
Higher dosages of food supplements should therefore only be taken after consultation with a doctor or alternative practitioner and not on one's own prescription.
In the best case, excessive amounts of vitamins or minerals are simply excreted and have no effect.
But it is not uncommon for the intake of excessive doses of some vitamins - especially over a longer period of time - to harm your body and even lead to serious illnesses.
If you follow the consumption recommendations on the telomit products, you will avoid both overdosing and underdosing.
3.9. Is it dangerous if I accidentally take too much of the capsules?
No, short-term overdoses are not usually harmful. If you have taken too many capsules, you may want to stop taking the product for one or more days if you are worried.
3.10. Can Telomit products all be taken at the same time or at the same time of day?
In principle, yes, unless the consumption recommendation says otherwise.
However, it is recommended to take the organic algae capsules, for example, in the early afternoon, as the iodine contained in them can have a stimulating effect in individual cases.
4. PREGNANCY / LACTATION / CHILDREN
4.1. Can Telomit products be taken during pregnancy?
Although there are no contraindications that we are aware of, we recommend that any dietary supplements be taken during pregnancy only after prior consultation with a doctor.
4.2. Can Telomit products be taken during breastfeeding?
Although there are no contraindications known to us, we recommend that any dietary supplements be taken only after prior consultation with a doctor, even during breastfeeding.
4.3. Are Telomit products also suitable for children?
Basically yes, but small children in particular are often not yet able to swallow the capsules, so only the capsule contents should be used.
The Bio-Redox-Base formula and the D3K2plus formula are the most suitable for children. According to the age and weight of the child, the products should be dosed lower in any case.
However, for a healthy physical and mental development of children, it is essential to pay attention to a healthy diet.
