CONSUMPTION RECOMMENDATION
Take 1–2 capsules daily with 1–2 glasses of water (non-carbonated). Sodium bicarbonate is best taken on an empty stomach or 2 hours after a meal to avoid digestive discomfort. Do not exceed the stated recommended daily intake. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a balanced, varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO₃), also known as sodium hydrogen carbonate or simply “baking soda,” naturally occurs in minerals such as nahcolite and trona (hence the term “natron”) and is a component of water bodies and rocks. Sodium bicarbonate is an inorganic white salt composed of sodium (Na⁺), bicarbonate (HCO₃⁻), and hydrogen ions. It is a naturally alkaline sodium salt. Due to its relatively salty taste, sodium bicarbonate powder is well-suited for encapsulation, making it easy to ingest and dose.
Sodium bicarbonate has a long history and was already used in ancient times. As early as around 2600 BC, the ancient Egyptians used naturally occurring natron, which was extracted from dry salt lakes. The Greeks and Romans used natron for hygiene and medicinal purposes. In 1846, Americans Austin Church and John Dwight invented a method for producing baking soda, which quickly spread across the U.S. In the early 20th century, sodium bicarbonate became a widely used household remedy. Today, it is one of the most important and versatile chemical products in the world.
